Step Up TransformerA step up transformer is based on the same formulas as other transformers are, but its key goal is to convert voltage to higher volumes, while reducing amperage and the effects of resistance. The step up transformer works by having the secondary voltage greater than its primary voltage. A step up transformer is one of the key components in electrical power transmission. They are used to step-up the voltage for several applications including so it can travel long distance over transmission lines to provide electricity for our homes and business. How A Step Up Transformer WorksA step up transformer is made of two or more coils of insulated wire often wound around a core made of iron.
